Construction

“…bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope” –Habitat for Humanity Mission Statement

Each home is a community-wide effort, calling upon neighbors to volunteer and help construct the home alongside the partner family. In fact, GLHFH’s last build involved over 300 volunteers! Be a part of building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter and join us on the 1608 Scott Street Home Build!

It’s important to note that you do not have to know anything about construction to volunteer! We will teach you everything you need to know to complete the task at hand.

When we build: Wednesday and Saturday, 8am to 3pm. Though not required, we do ask volunteers to be available to volunteer the whole day.

Where we are building: Our current home build is taking place at 1608 Scott Street in Williamsport, adjacent to Memorial Homes.

About the Home Build: 1608 Scott street is a duplex that will house two families and is our 52nd and 53rd homes built or rehabbed! It is located directly behind our 51st home build, 1607 Memorial Ave.
